DRIVER WATCH LAUNCHED IN THE BLACK COUNTRY West Midlands Police Force have announced their success in the Driver Watch campaign that launched in Dudley earlier this year. It's success is a direct result of Private Hire and Hackney Carriage drivers coming together to unite and stand against crime. The drivers realise they are in direct threat of any violence or abuse that arises on the streets. This allows the to be 'the eyes and ears of the roads'. By liaising with WMP officers, drivers are able to offer valuable information on events that may later proof crucial in solving or even preventing a crime. This simple method of the Police and the Taxi Sector migrating has resulted in a highly approved method of vigilance and a stand against crime. Driver Watch Campaign is soon to be piloted in the Birmingham City Centre Area. We will be the first to know. |
